Why We Love It!
Tennis is a safe sport, provides a great workout, offers a great way to relieve stress and it’s affordable. Not only that, but tennis is also played year-round, and you can stumble upon tennis courts anywhere you go.
Great tennis players are in good shape, but they are also mentally strong – it’s a great activity to help young athletes build mental and physical strength.
Tennis as we know it was established in England in the 1870s. It is derived from a 12th century French handball game called “Paume.”

Yellow tennis balls were first used in 1986 at Wimbledon, prior to this they were white. To make tennis more kid friendly, there are also red balls, orange balls and green balls available in addition to the regular yellow balls. And did you know that during a match a player can run an average of 3 miles?!
