New Years Resolution Image

It’s hard to believe that 2021 is already coming to an end. Welcoming a new year is always a great opportunity to reset and take time to think about your goals and aspirations for the year ahead.

Here’s one of my favorite quotes that has kept me going through the last month of this year and is leading me into 2022:

“This is the beginning of anything you want.”

This quote is written on the chalkboard at a spin studio where I ride, and it makes an impact every time I see it. As we approach the New Year and set our resolutions and intentions for 2022, it’s important to remember that this truly is a time where anything can happen. How are we going to come back when sports seasons start again? What type of person do you want to be in the New Year? Why wait to make changes in our daily habits? This is the time to put in the work when no one is watching and embrace the power of possibility.

It is entirely up to you to be the best version of the athlete that you look up to. This isn’t the time to worry about the past but to work hard to stay present in the moment. We all have the power to embrace the New Year as a new start, a new beginning and never give up or quit until you feel proud of your accomplishments and yourself. I believe in you – and I know you can all do hard things!

When it comes to setting a New Year’s resolution, think about goals that you will work hard to achieve, but that are measurable. Make it simple. Is it practicing for 15 minutes extra, or hydrating efficiently every day? Maybe you want to take 100 shots per week as you work on your game? One of my resolutions for 2022 is to make my bed every morning so I can start the day feeling organized and ready to to go. Whatever you set for your resolutions – know that you can do it. Cheers to 2022!
