Hiveclass, an interactive video-based e-learning platform for physical activity, sports and wellness, is excited to announce that it was honored by LibraryWorks with a platinum distinction at the tenth annual Modern Library Awards (MLAs). Such honors encourage Hiveclass to continue pushing forward with its mission to promote accessibility of physical and mental wellness to all youth through engaging and relatable content.
“Being recognized with Platinum honors is testament to not only the passion and hard work of our mission-driven team, but also a statement of affirmation by the library community across the country that there is a place for high quality physical activity resources in the library” said Joe Titus, CEO of Hiveclass. “We are honored to receive this award and even more motivated to continue developing and innovating our products and impact for the betterment of the communities we serve.
Hiveclass was founded in 2020 and released in 2022. The Hiveclass Digital Encyclopedia is currently available in eighteen states and at all US Department of Defense base libraries. Hiveclass is an innovative leader in providing a modern, accessible resource to libraries and their patrons:
- Hiveclass offers a unique opportunity to partner with libraries in order to enable affordability and accessibility of sports and wellness content to all learners, focusing primarily on k-12 learners.
- Hiveclass provides a catalog of interactive video content thoughtfully designed for learning lifelong healthy skills and building confidence through bite-sized educational content.
“Hiveclass is not only innovative but also intentional, promoting a holistic approach that embraces sports education as well as multiple literacies and modalities, seamlessly integrated into the promotion of health and wellness for people of all ages, particularly children and youth,” proclaimed one judge who sat on the adjudication panel. “Continually adapting, it is a shining example of equity and accessibility in action, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to fostering healthier and more inclusive communities.”
“We are excited to see Hiveclass receive a distinguished Platinum Award in their second year applying to the MLAs. As a newcomer to the industry, they are quickly becoming a leader, and at no surprise,” said Jenny Newman, publisher and MLA program manager. “Hiveclass provides an unmatched resource for our youth and enables unbounded enrichment.”
The MLAs were created to recognize without bias the top products and services in the library industry. In Fall 2023, products and services were submitted using a simple application, then posted on a private site with an enhanced description and attendant materials. To achieve unbiased results, only librarians experienced in using the products and services in their facilities were permitted to judge them.
